Lunch Buddies has been cancelled for today, but will resume again in the New Year!

3.14159265359 is all the numbers of pi Mr. Slade can remember, but he is working hard to be the school champ and remember at least 100 decimal places.  It is rumoured that Mrs. Buzak can already reach 100.  What will you be able to recall come March 14th?

Science Olympians - be sure to research over the break and bring your amazing ideas back in 2015.

The District Girls Basketball Team roster will be posted today on the athletic board at the morning break, and there will be a practice at 12:05pm.

Tomorrow is the last day to hand in November practice. If you don’t get yours in, you definitely have not been paying attention to the announcements over the past month.

Band students are asked to take their instruments home over the Christmas break if possible, so the room is clear for cleaning over the holidays.

Today is the last day to choose music for festival solos, duets, trios and quartets. Mrs. Baron needs to see you at lunch today if you have not met with her yet.

The school Christmas concert is tonight starting at 7pm. Doors will open at 6:30pm for students and parents. Grade 8 band and choir members please meet in the gym. Grade 7 band students warm up in the tech ed room and Grade 6 students warm up in the music room.

Reminder: District girls’ basketball tryouts today at 12:05 pm.

SWAT (Student Wellness Action Team) mwill meet today at 12;05 in room 122.

Grade 6, 7, & 8 band members are reminded to hand in their November theory. It is due by next Friday, Dec. 19th. Any students leaving early for Christmas vacation, are reminded to get theirs handed in before then.

The band and choir concert is tomorrow night! All band and choir members are reminded to wear black, white, red or green.  The doors will open by 6:30pm, with the concert starting at 7pm.

The combined practice for the grade 6 bands is tomorrow, periods 4 & 5 in the music room.
Any teachers that use the gym are also reminded that the gym will be used for concert setup tomorrow during periods 7 & 8.

Any students needing to choose music for solo, duet, trio or quartet must come this Thursday and Friday over the lunch hour to choose music. Only those students choosing music will be allowed to be in the music room.

Choir members are reminded that today is the Edmonton International Airport performance. Please bring your lunch and your coat to the music room period 5. There will not be an intercom announcement, so please be sure to remember to come.

Today is the combined grade 7 band practice during periods 4 & 5. Grade 8 trumpets are also requested to attend this combined practice, so please remember come period 4 & 5.
Thursday is the combined practice for all grade 6 band members during periods 4 & 5.

Any band students performing a solo, duet, trio or quartet must hand in their purple form and choose music by next Friday, Dec. 19th. Please come to the music room Thursday and Friday at lunch to choose your music.

Speech Arts students: Ms Colquhoun will be in Mme Marshall’s classroom (rm 104) tomorrow and Wednesday (Dec 9th and 10th) during the lunch break to help you make your selection or selections for the competition.

All premier boys and girls, mini boys and girls, and those interested in trying out for the district teams, please see the calendar of gym times over the next two weeks.  It is located on the athletics board.

Speech Arts: Last day to pick up an information and permission form from Mrs, Kay or Mme Marshall. Completed forms and payment are due tomorrow Thursday, Dec. 4th - no exceptions.

SWAT will meet today at lunch for some Team Building Activities. Please note the change in location for today. We will be meeting in room 105. As this room does not have a microwave, please heat yoiur lunch before you arrive.

Gr 8 students, today is your Citadel field trip! Please remember to return to your homerooms for period 3.

Mr. Slade will be calling grade 8 classes to the front entrance for class pictures beginning at 10:05.  Please be ready.

Mrs. Nessel wants to remind all Art and Home Ec students that tomorrow is the last day that projects can be handed in.  If you need extra time see her today.

Premier Girls tryouts are postponed till Monday due to Mrs Dorash being away.

The second round selections for the Premier Boys Basketball Team have been posted.  The next tryout is not until next Tuesday.  Grade 6 and 7 students - listen to announcements for District Team tryouts to come when the Premier selection is complete.


Mr. Mistol’s grade 7AD PE class will not be at the arena during P.5 today.  You will be in the gym today.

Update Grade 8 classes- Mme Stewart’s class has 110 points… looks like we are in the running! Get your Christmas elves donations in!!!

Only today and tomorrow left to donate a dollar to Shave the Stash and support men’s health.  Names will be drawn Friday morning!

The list of athletes selected so far for the Premier girls basketball team has been posted on the athletics bulletin board, our next practice will be Wednesday after school.  Mrs. Dorash would like to thank all of the girls that tried out. Choosing a team from so many great kids is a real challenge.  Thank you for your efforts.

You have only three days left to donate to Shave the Stash because they come off on Friday.  Donate $1 or more to a male teacher and enter your name for a chance to make that teacher look silly for the day.

If you are interested in participating in the Speech Arts portion of the Leduc Rotary Music Festival, you can pick up an information/registration letter from Mrs. Kay or Mme Marshall’s classrooms. Forms and payments are due back no later than Thursday, December 4th.

Band students are reminded that this Friday is the last day to hand in October practice sheets.

Thur. & Fri. - Open band practice for anyone wanting help or practice time

Active Living students are asked to change into your gym clothes for tomorrow’s class during period 8. Please also meet in the far end classroom at the front of the school, instead of the music room. Your guest from Fitness Revolution will be meeting you there.

All mini boys basketball players need to hand in their commitment forms to Mr. Mistol as soon as possible.

Mr. Mistol’s Jr. High PE classes will be at the arena this week.  Before leaving for the arena, you need to meet in Mr. Slade’s bootroom.  
-If you do not have skates, you need a CLEAN pair of indoor shoes.
-If you do not have a helmet, please get one from the equipment room.

A huge congratulations goes out to the Premier Girls’ Volleyball team who fought hard to beat Coloniale in the semi-finals, and then took Leduc Jr High to 3 sets in the finals to come home with the silver medal! Great season girls!! You have a quick meeting at 12:05 in Mrs. Kay’s room (room 101)

Congrats to the Premier Boys Volleyball team on their Bronze Medal win last night at league playoffs. We had a great season with a tournament win early in the season and we also finished first in the league. Great job this year boys.
