Friday, March 23, 2012 - Day 5

  • Reminder to any students interested in entering the Sci Fair, your forms and parent signatures are due after Spring Break.  Any questions see Mme Stewart or Mme McCallion.

  • A reminder that the badminton team will be having drop in practices over spring break.   Monday, Wednesday and Friday (10am-noon).  Please make your best effort to attend.

  • Happy Beach Day!

  • Please take home all P.E. equipment – skates, etc today.

  • Have a safe and wonderful Spring Break - classes resume April 2!

Thursday, March 22, 2012 Day 4

  • Got some change burning a hole in your pocket?  Hold onto it for ONE more day!  There will be a small concession run out of Mrs. Larson’s room on Friday at lunch.  There will be chips, candy bags, sport drinks, and more.

  • Attention grade 8 students.  As the year is coming to a close it is time for you to start thinking about your favourite memories of JE.  Over the next few weeks Graphic Design students will be asking you for a video response to this question as they are creating the Grade 8 Farewell Video.  Be fun, be creative, be honest, but please be appropriate.

  • Friday is BEACH DAY!

  • Please clear your old footwear out of the bootrooms.  There are many shoes being left there at the end of the day.

  • Would the premier and district boys basketball team please return their jerseys by tomorrow.

  • Elementary Running Club, please meet in the gym at noon for a practice.  This practice is for all students who will be participating in the Klondike Relays. 

  • Congratulations to the Jazz band for participating in the Celebration of Music at the McLab theatre in Leduc last night.

  • Day 2 & 4 choir today.

  • Junior High Volleyball option please meet in the gym changed ready to play period 4.

  • Jr. Girls Badminton practice today @ noon.   Optional practice for all team members after school (3:15-4:15).


  • Swimming option - Please meet in Room 101 at 10:30.

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 - Day 2

  • There is a very important choir practice today for ALL members in the music room at 12 noon. This is in preparation for the music festival, so all members must attend.

  • There will be a 2nd practice for ALL choir members at 12 noon Thursday of this week as well. Please mark it down and make sure you attend.

  • Any junior high band members that have a final MUSICFEST payment cheque for Mrs. Baron are asked to take it to the music room BEFORE going to period 1.

  • Band members are reminded of their combined band practice tomorrow in the music room period 4 & 5. Please remember to have your instrument here for class for this very important rehearsal!

  • Any students playing solos, duets, trios and quartets are reminded to come to their individual practice times.

  • Any jazz band members that did not receive the BLUE note for your performance Wednesday night should see Mrs. Baron today.

  • Premier boys basketball meeting in Mr. Slade’s room at 12:25.  It is important that all boys attend.

  • It is the International day of “la Francophonie” today. The 2012 theme’s is “Le francais est une chance” . We will be celebrating “La semaine de la francophonie” during our Education week from April 30th to May 4th.

  • Klondike relays for elementary students today at noon.

  • Parent teacher interviews tonight and Thursday.

Monday, March 19, 2012 - Day 1

  • Ms. Colquhoun would like to meet with all grade 4 Speech Arts students in Room 117 at noon today.

  • Jr. Boys Badminton practice is today at noon.

  • Would the premier boys basketball team please meet in Mr. Slade’s room at 12:25.

  • Congratulations to our Elementary runners: The girls team competed in the Edmonton Journal Games on Saturday.  These girls ran 2 fantastic races and placed 16th out of approximately 220 schools.  Well done Girls! One of our Jr. High boys raced in the 800m and finished third in the finals.

  • ALL choir members are asked to come for 2 very important music festival practices this week on BOTH DAY 2 AND DAY 4. This means that all members come tomorrow AND Thursday for practice.

  • Mrs. Baron needs to see all the members of the jazz band today during their 10:30 break.

  • Junior high band members are reminded that their final payment for the Ottawa trip is due today. Please see Mrs. Baron to give her your cheque TODAY!

  • Premier girls meeting today in rm 103 at 12:20, please bring your uniform with you.

  • Congratulations to the Atom A Beaumont Braves who won gold this weekend.

Friday, March 16, 2012 - Day 5

  • Congratulations to the Premier Boys Basketball team on a great season, but a tough 2 point loss last night in the gold medal game.  You made your coach, school, and parents proud all season.  Mr. Slade wants you to know that the sting will soon go away.  We’ll get em next season!

  • A big congrats goes to the Premier Girls Basketball team on their bronze medal victory last night!  Thanks for a great year girls.  Mrs. Dorash is proud of you. Please return your jersys by Monday.

  • Good luck to the Elementary Girls’ Relay Team who will be competing in the Quarter Finals of the Journal Games tomorrow morning at 8:30.  Remember to be there early and ready to run.  Good luck also to Makarthy Bridges who will be competing in the 800m Semi-Finals tomorrow at approximately 2 pm.

  • All elementary students who have their Klondike Relays Permission Forms, please hand them in today to Mme McCallion.

  • The junior high band is hosting their final bake sale today at lunch. All items will be sold for $1.00 and will be supporting the trip to Ottawa this May. Junior highs can come to the front foyer at 12 noon to buy their treats and elementary students can come at 12:30.

  • Any students playing solos, duets, trios or quartets are reminded to come to their practice times with Mrs. Baron. The sign-up sheets are still up in the music room if you have forgotten your time and need to check.

  • Junior High band members are reminded that their final Musicfest payment is due on Monday. If your parents have sent a cheque, please make sure you give it to Mrs. Baron.

  • Choir members are reminded that there will be TWO practices next week for ALL members. Choir members are asked to come to practice on Tuesday AND Thursday. These extra practices are because of the music festival coming up after spring break. These are NOT optional practices, and choir members MUST attend.

  • Band members are reminded to get their March theory and practice completed and signed by next Friday, March 23rd.

  • The junior high band is hosting their final bake sale tomorrow at lunch. All items will be sold for $1.00 and will be supporting the trip to Ottawa this May.
  • Any students playing solos, duets, trios or quartets are reminded to come to their practice times with Mrs. Baron. The sign-up sheets are still up in the music room if you have forgotten your time and need to check.

  • The junior high band is hosting their final bake sale this Friday at lunch. All items will be sold for $1.00 and will be supporting the trip to Ottawa this May.

  • Jazz band practice today at 12:20.

  • There will be a very important music festival choir practice tomorrow for ALL members. Teachers are asked to excuse DAY 2 and DAY 4 choir members to the music room at 11:40 tomorrow.

  • All district boys basketball players need to meet in the gym for a brief meeting right after these announcements.

  • Premier Boys and Girls basketball meeting at 12:20 in Mrs. Dorash’s room.

  • Good luck to our Mini boys and girls basketball teams tonight. The boys play here at J.E. and the girls will be playing at Coloniale.

  • Congratulations to Beaumont Ringette U12C and U14A girls.  Both teams were Zone 5 Champions and won silver medals in Provincials this weekend.

  • Study Buddies start up again today – Look for the PINK schedule on the wall.

  • It’s Sub Appreciation Week. A Special thank you goes out to all guest teachers.

  • Boys Badminton tryouts today at noon.

  • Day 2 and Day 4 Choir members have a music festival practice tomorrow at 12 noon.

  • Congratulations to the premier boys basketball team who qualified for the league finals last night with a win over Sacred Heart.  As well, a big thanks to Dylan Kent and Wyatt Villetard for scorekeeping  the game.

  • Congratulations to the Premier girls basketball team. They played against Coloniale and will play in the bronze medal match next Thursday.

  • Congratulations to District boys basketball team. They came up short against Holy Spirit, and will play for the bronze medal next Thursday.

  • Could all junior high students that are signed up as study buddies please see Mrs. Nessel today at noon.

  • All Gr. 8 home ec projects are marked . Please pick them up at noon.

  • Reminder to students that you are not to be going uptown for lunch unless you have written permission.

  • Outdoor Ed. gear will be stored in Room 105.

  • Reminder to Spring forward "Daylight Savings Time" occurs this Sunday at 2:00 am.

  • Premier boys basketball semi-final today at 4:00.  Come on and cheer the boys on!

  • Good luck to the District boys team, they are playing in the semi-finals at Holy Spirit!

  • Premier girls basketball team, please meet in the foyer at 3:20pm ready to go to Coloniale. Go Sabres!

  • There will be a basketball shooting practice today at 12:20pm for both the District and Premier teams.
