Wednesday, November 30, 2011 - Day 3

  • It’s Speech Arts time again! All students who are interested in participating in the Leduc Rotary Festival in the Speech Arts category please see Ms. Colquhoun at 12 noon today in Room 117 for a registration form. Registration forms need to be back to Ms. Colquhoun by Friday, December 9th.

  • Christmas Elves hamper in the office -École J.E Lapointe School has been asked to donate the following→paper products, personal hygiene products (deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste), non-perishable foods

  • There will be a try-out for any grade 6 boys interested in playing district basketball at noon tomorrow.  There is a sign up sheet located on the athletic board beside the gym.

  • Premier boys basketball practice today at noon.

  • Sorry, sorry, sorry to the students who were here for SNOW BIZ practice this morning. Mrs. Baron had some alarm clock issues and didn’t make it on time!  There WILL be a practice on Friday morning!

  • Band practice and theory are due today!

  • Jazz band at noon today

  • Dhielman orders will be available for pickup Thursday during Parent/Teacher interviews.

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 - Day 2

  • Band 6, 7  & 8 members are reminded to hand in your signed theory and practice sheets by Wednesday, November 30th. Please put in the correct blue bin in the music room.

Monday, November 28, 2011 - Day 1

  • All students who auditioned for SNOW BIZ last week are asked to come to the music room at 1st recess today. It is very important you remember to come as you will be receiving your parts and a schedule of practice times. If you do not come, your part will be re-assigned.

  • Day 2 Choir practice is tomorrow

  • Attention Band 6, 7 & 8 members: You are reminded to get your theory and practice signed by this Wednesday, Nov. 30th. Please make sure it goes into the correct BLUE bin in the music room

  • Reminder that tomorrow is a PD day and there is no school.

  • Premier girls basketball tryouts will continue tonight 3:30 – 4:30.

  • Band 6, 7 & 8 members are reminded to get their theory and practice signed and handed in by Nov. 30th please...

  • Everyone that came to auditions for the Christmas musical SNOW BIZ the past two mornings must come to the music room TODAY at lunch recess for a short meeting.

  • All FSL 8 students please come pick up your corrected quizzes from Mlle. Hennig to study for your exam Monday.

  • Any junior high students that would like more information or to sign up to be a study buddy, please come to the meeting Thursday, at 12:20 in the home ec room.

  • Operation Christmas Child - Shoeboxes are due today, please remember to include a $7.00 cheque to help cover the cost of shipping.


  • Grade 6, 7 & 8 band members are reminded to get their theory and practice signed and handed in on or before Nov. 30th. Teachers are asked to please make a note on your classroom whiteboard as a reminder for your band students.

  • Reminder that Friday, November 25 is a PD day and there will be no school.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 - Day 3

  • If anyone is interested in purchasing a yearbook from last year, please see Miss Stewart.

  • Jazz band practice is today from 12 – 12:30.

  • Grade 6, 7 & 8 band members are reminded to get their theory and practice signed and handed in on or before Nov. 30th. Teachers are asked to please make a note on your classroom whiteboard as a reminder for your band students. 

  • There are still some white and chocolate milk left over from yesterday’s milk Monday. They are $1. See Mrs. Baron if you are interested. 

  • Day 4 choir practice is tomorrow at 12. Please remember to come and bring your words! 

  • Thank you to the Grade 4 students who auditioned for a part in the Christmas musical this morning. Tomorrow are grade 5 student auditions. Please be here by 7:30.

Monday, November 21, 2011 - Day 2

  • Reminder to all junior high boys that basketball tryouts continue tonight at 3:30.  Girls continue tomorrow at 3:30.
       
  • Mr. Mistol’s Jr. High boys PE classes will be at the downstairs rink for the next two weeks.  Please check the sign posted at the entrance to determine which dressing room to use.

  • Day 2 Choir practice is today at 12 in the music room. Please remember to bring your words as we are working on the new Christmas songs. Day 4 Choir is on Wednesday this week.

  • Jazz band practice is tomorrow from 12 – 12:30.

  • Any grade 4 or 5 students interested in auditioning for a singing or speaking part for the Christmas musical must see Mrs. Baron for a note at first recess this morning.

Friday, November 18, 2011 - Day 1

  • The Junior High Book Club has chosen to read The Hunger Games. If you’re interested in reading this book and having discussions (with hot tea! J) You can come to room 102 Wednesdays @ 12:30pm

  • Bake sale today at noon in support of band trip to Ottawa. Jr High come at noon and elementary at 12:30. All items are $1.00, juice and milk also available.

  • Day 2 choir practice on Monday.

Thursday, November 16, 2011 - Day 5

  • All grade 8 home ec students that have not turned in their module one projects need to come and see Mrs. Nessel sometime today.  Failure to hand in a project can result in a zero for module 1.

  • Mr. Slade would like to apologize to all grade 7 and 8 boys who were planning on making it to basketball tryouts yesterday.  Would all those interested in trying out please meet in Mr. Slade’s room at 12:20 for a quick meeting.  A rescheduled tryout will take place tomorrow after school – weather permitting.

  • There is a bake sale tomorrow at lunch in support of the band trip to Ottawa. All items are $1.00.

  • Cell phones - reminder to students that cell phones are not permitted at school. If caught with a cell phone in use or not, it will be taken away for the day.

  • Winter is upon us. Please remember to dress for the weather. On those extremely cold days we will be having indoor recess.

  • Book Club starts this week. If you enjoy reading and would like to participate in a weekly discussion about your current novel. Come to room 102 at 12:30pm TODAY with a book in mind that you would like the club to consider reading.

  • Junior high boys basketball tryouts begin tonight.  Whether you are interested in playing on the premier of district team, come out and show us what you’ve got.  For more info see Mr. Slade today.  Girls tryouts begin tomorrow.  Grade 6 try-outs will begin next week.

  • There will be a bake sale during the lunch hour this Friday in support of the junior high band trip to Ottawa. All items will be $1.00

  • Day 4 Choir will be practicing today at 12. Please remember to bring your words as we are starting new songs for our Christmas concerts.

  • Congratulations to the Premier girls volleyball team for winning bronze last night. Great job ladies, way to     make J. E. proud!

  • Reminder, yoga students please be ready to leave for your field trip at 10:00 am. Drink water and have a snack prior please!

  • Premier girls volleyball team please meet Ms Stewart in the front foyer at 3:15 ready to leave.

  • Reminder – school clothing order forms are due today, teachers, please hand in your forms to the office.

  • There will be a bake sale during the lunch hour this Friday in support of the junior high band trip to Ottawa. All items will be $1.00.

  • Band students must give their cookie and sausage order forms and money to Mrs. Baron by the end of the day today! If you forgot your form, you MUST talk to Mrs. Baron before leaving school.

  • Volleyball District Boys, we have a practice today at noon! We are going to Devon tomorrow for our Playoffs. Please talk to your teachers & parents as we are leaving school at 2.

  • Congratulations to all our  ringette players who competed in the Brass Ring tournament this weekend. Our girls did an awesome job with the U14A Bazang winning gold, U12B winning silver, 12A winning silver.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 - Day 1

  • There will be a jazz band practice today from 12 – 12:30 in the music room.

  • October theory and practice are due today for all Grade 6, 7 & 8 band members.

  • Junior high band members are reminded to return their cookie dough and sausage order forms by Tuesday, November 15th. Late orders cannot be accepted due to ordering deadlines, so please make sure your forms and money are here by Tuesday.

  • Mrs. Baron would like to thank all the students that sang, played or had speaking parts at the Remembrance Day ceremony yesterday. The band members, choir members and speakers all did a great job.

  • All band members are reminded to hand in their October practice and theory by this Thursday please.

  • A reminder for all staff and students that our school Remembrance Day ceremony is today. The elementary ceremony is going to be at 10:45 and the junior high at 1:30. Teachers are also reminded that all choir members grades 4 – 7 and all junior high band members will be performing at both ceremoniesParents are welcome to attend either ceremony.

  • The Jazz band will practice on Thursday this week.

  • District boys volleyball practice tomorrow morning.

  • Brass Ring ringette tournament this week. November 10-13, come cheer on your teams.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 - Day 4

  • Reminder to 7E girls PE you are going to be at the BRAC tomorrow. Please remember to bring your skates and helmet. 

  • There is a game tonight for Volleyball District Boys at LJH. We will have a quick meeting during lunch recess in room 104 to talk about transportation.

  • All band members are reminded to hand in their October practice and theory by this Thursday please.

  • Band and choir members are also reminded to please wear black, white or red tomorrow for the ceremony.

  • There will be a combined choir practice today for ALL choir members. This is an important practice for Remembrance Day, so please remember to come!

  • The Jazz band will practice on Thursday this week.

  • Mrs. Baron needs to meet with all Remembrance Day speakers during period 5 today. Please come to the music room with your script at the start of period 5.
