Friday, September 30, 2011 - Day 5

• Good luck to the Running Club members who will be competing in the Bole Classic Cross Country Race in Leduc on Saturday.  Please remember to arrive at half an hour before your race. 

• Band 6, 7 & 8 members are reminded to hand in their practice and theory duotangs today please.

• There will be a short meeting TODAY for ALL junior high band members at first recess.

• Choir sign-up sheets will be posted next week in the music room. Any students in grades 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 that are interested in joining a school choir is invited to sign up!

• If any Grade 5 students have their band camp forms they should bring them to Mrs. Baron right away please.

• On Sunday, 26 students will be headed to Sir Winston Churchill Square to participate in the run for the cure.  As of right now, the team has raised over 2600 dollars, and counting!  What an amazing job.  Runners are reminded that the bus leaves at 8:15 am from the school.  Please dress for the weather!

Thursday, September 29, 2011 - Day 4

• Art 7 students – Please remember  to bring your cartoon for tomorrow.

• We have the October Beaumont Community Youth Centre  calendar in the office if you would like one.

• Reminder there is a premier girls volleyball practice after school today.

• School picture orders are due today, retakes will be Oct. 13^th.

• There is an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Meeting that all Run for the Cure participants MUST attend today at lunch.  Junior high students, meet in room 112 at 12:20.  Elementary students, meet in room 112 at 12:30, and please bring your lunches.

• Running club practice today after school.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - Day 3

• Grade 6/7 Boys – FINAL District Volleyball Tryouts
  Today @ 12:15 (eat your lunch then come to the gym).

• Any Run for the Cure participants who haven’t turned in their money need to come see Ms. Chromiak right after announcements this morning.  Please swing by if you need a new permission form as well.  We will be having an information meeting tomorrow at lunch.

• Congratulations to all of our runners who competed in the LDAA Cross Country Championships.  Everyone ran a great race and finished strong.  We had several top 10 finishes:  Alex Kent, Andrew Drotsky, Brendan McCallion, Isaac Hokanson, Breann Wilhelm, Anisa Aidun.  We also had 2 silver medalists:  Makarthy Bridges and Miranda Sawa.  Lastly, two students won the gold medal:  Liam Shute and Jarred Sawa.  Great job, everybody!  You made J.E.L. proud!

• Running Club:  A reminder to hand in your John Bole Classic permission forms today.  The race will be this Saturday.  There will be a practice tomorrow after school.

• Grade 6 A & B will be going to Miquelon Lake Provincial Park today to learn about Trees and Forests.  Have a great day!

Tuesday, September 27, 2011- Day 2

• Grade 7 Girls AND Grade 6/7 Boys – FINAL District Volleyball Tryouts today @ 12:15 (eat your lunch then come to the gym).

• Hot lunch orders are due today.

• Running Club Members, please meet in the front foyer AFTER period 1 (at 9:15 am) ready to run.  Please remember to bring your lunch, water bottle, running shoes and running attire.

• Good Luck to all students competing in the 2011 LDAA Cross Country Championships today at Four Seasons.

• All BHA students must be at the rink by 12:45pm! 

• School Council/Parent Advisory Association tonight at 7:30 p.m.

• There will be Volleyball tryouts for Boys in Gr. 6 and Gr.7 today at 12:15 in the gym. Please eat your lunch in your Homeroom before heading to the gym.

• Run for the Cure participants are asked to bring their permission forms to Ms. Chromiak in room 112 as soon as possible.  All fundraising money is due on Tuesday! 

• District girls volleyball try-outs are after school today. All grade 7 girls interested in playing must attend.

Thursday, September 22, 2011 - Day 4

• District boys tryouts – today at noon.  Bring your lunch to the gym.  District girls tryouts will be Friday at 3:20.  Any questions please see Mr. Mistol.

• Reminder that there is a premier girls volleyball practice after school today until 4:30pm.

• There will be a meeting today at 10:30am for all grade 7 boys and girls interested in playing district volleyball.  The meeting will take place in Mrs. Dorash’s room.

Tuesday, September 20, 2011 - Day 2

• There will be a brief Run for the Cure meeting in room 112 at morning recess.  All runners need to attend, as mandatory permission forms will be given out.

• Running Club practice today after school.  Please meet in the front foyer at 3:30.  There will also be a practice tomorrow at 7:30 am.

• Lost - Pink cell phone in a brown polka dot case.

Monday, September 19, 2011 - Day 1

• Several hoodies were left outside during the activity day. They are in the lost and found.

• All Running Club Runners, please come to room 113 at 12:30 p.m. today.  You will be picking up a permission form for the Cross Country Run next week, so it is very important that you see Mme McCallion today.

• There is a very important band parent meeting for Grade 6 and Grade 7/8 Band parents tonight. The Grade 6 parent meeting is for all parents from 5:30 – 6 pm and the Grade 7/8 meeting from 6 – 6:30pm is only for the families that are planning on going to Ottawa this May. If you have any questions about either meeting, please see Mrs. Baron today.

• Premier Boys volleyball afterschool from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

• Students are reminded to enter through their designated entrance. Thank you to all students for using the boot racks.

• Scooters/skateboards are not allowed at the school.

Thursday, September 15th, 2011 - Day 5

• Running Club practice after school today.

• Terry Fox walk/run today followed by hot dog BBQ. All students will share a common lunch hour from 12:00 - 12:50 pm.

• Due to the heat wave we are experiencing, Running Club will be postponed until tomorrow morning at 7:30 am.  IF you cannot make it tomorrow morning, the next practice will be Tuesday after school.  No running after school today.  Come tomorrow morning at 7:30 am.

• Home Ec/Tech Ed students – Please check to see what module you are in for Module 1 – Lists are in your homeroom teachers mailbox and posted on the home ec door. Supplies are required for home ec students.

• Jr. High boys volleyball tryouts today from 3:30 - 4:30.

• Reminder to adhere to the schools dress code.
